Coils are more durable than support foams and also provide bi-directional support, meaning the coils not only compress, but also provide some push-back.

Our firmness rating — Even though the bed does have memory foam, it’s actually somewhat firm (about a medium-firm). In fact, it’s one of the firmest mail order beds selling for under $600. Plain and simple, it’s just a really affordable mattress that ships via the mail.

Firmness level — Overall, we’d place this bed around a medium on the firmness scale. We see it working just fine for all types of sleepers—doesn’t matter whether you’re on your side, back, or stomach. That’s part of the reason we selected it for the list. It’s highly accomodating and most people will find it comfortable.

Simple design — The bed has just three layers of foam and a pretty unassuming feel. You can take 100 people off of the street and most of them will be just fine with the way the bed feels. While it does have memory foam, you can’t really feel the memory foam. It actually just feels like a softer version of Puffy.
